"My passion for childcare began long before starting this company — I’ve always had a deep love for working with children, especially those with disabilities."

Hi, I’m Keiara Pusey, the proud founder and owner of Kidz Haven Babysitting!

With a background in child welfare, behavioral assistance, and special needs education, I saw firsthand the growing need for compassionate, well-trained caregivers who truly understand the importance of patience, safety, and individualized care.

 

I started Kidz Haven Babysitting in 2021 to create a safe, nurturing, and reliable space for families to find quality care for their children.

 

As the company grew, I expanded my team with dedicated caregivers who share my passion for supporting children, the elderly, and adults with disabilities.

My Approach to Childcare

 

I believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Whether it’s engaging in play-based learning, fostering independence, or simply being a positive role model, I strive to ensure that every child in our care feels loved and supported.

 

My experience in hospice care and family support services has also strengthened my ability to provide compassionate guidance to families facing unique challenges.

FAQ

  • At Kidz Haven Babysitting, we take great pride in selecting highly qualified, experienced, and trustworthy caregivers. Our nannies and babysitters are recruited through online advertising, Indeed, and word-of-mouth referrals to ensure we find dedicated professionals who are passionate about childcare.

    Every nanny and babysitter must pass a comprehensive screening process, which includes:
        •    Criminal background checks (national and county-level searches)
        •    Civil background checks (identifying restraining orders, evictions, custody issues, etc.)
        •    Driving record checks
        •    CPR & First Aid certification (required for all caregivers)
        •    A minimum of one year of professional experience working with children
        •    Thorough reference checks to verify experience and reliability

    All babysitting requests must be scheduled through Kidz Haven Babysitting using one of the following methods:

  • If you have a set, consistent schedule, we will ensure you have the same nanny every time, with the only exception being if the nanny is sick or out of town. This consistency helps build a strong bond between the nanny and your child, providing a stable and familiar environment.

    For families using our services for sporadic needs, such as emergencies or date nights, we cannot guarantee the same nanny each time. However, we make every effort to send the same caregiver whenever possible, as we believe consistency is vital for the well-being of your child.

    If the nanny you’ve previously used is unavailable, we will assign another equally qualified nanny and provide you with their profile, photo, and references ahead of time to ensure you’re comfortable with the new caregiver.

  • At Kidz Haven Babysitting, we understand that our job goes beyond just caring for your children; it also involves ensuring that your home remains in good condition while you’re away. While we are not a cleaning service, it is reasonable to ask your nanny to assist with tasks related to daily upkeep during their shift.

    Our nannies will gladly take care of the following:
        •    Cleaning up any messes made by the child and themselves during the shift
        •    Ensuring your home is tidy and that you don’t return to a mess

    Our general rule of thumb is to leave your home in better condition than it was when the sitter arrived. This reflects our commitment to providing not only excellent childcare but also respect for your space and home.

    When booking, you will have the opportunity to select a date and choose from available sitters. If additional information is required, the owner will reach out before confirming and finalizing your booking.
     

  • For families in need of a part-time or full-time babysitter, please contact the owner directly via phone, text, or email to discuss availability and customized care options.

    Important: Parents must not contact sitters directly to arrange services. Any bookings made outside of Kidz Haven Babysitting are not covered under our policies, and the company assumes no liability for any incidents occurring outside of our official scheduling process.

  •   •    $20 per hour (4-hour minimum)
        •    Additional children: $2 per child, per hour
        •    Travel fee: $20 (may vary based on location)
        •    Parking fees: Applicable at hotels and resorts
        •    Holiday and last-minute bookings (requests made within 24-48 hours) are subject to adjusted rates
        •    All rates are subject to change

  • Upon booking and confirming a sitter, an invoice will be sent to the provided email address. The invoice must be paid within 24 hours after the sitter contacts the designated point of contact.
        •    The deposit can be paid via major credit or debit cards, including Mastercard and Visa.
        •    The remaining balance will be paid directly to the sitter at the beginning or end of the shift, depending on your preference.
        •    Payment options for the balance include Cash App, Zelle, Venmo, or cash—whichever is most convenient for you and the sitter.

    Please note that if the sitter exceeds the scheduled shift time, the quoted hourly rate will apply to any overtime, and payment for the additional time will be due accordingly.

  • Yes, rates for all holiday bookings vary. Please inquire in advance to confirm the rate for your desired holiday booking.

  • The deposit is 30% of the total cost of hours booked, based on the number of children and total hours requested. Deposit amounts vary accordingly.

  • No. Deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled shift to qualify for a one-time transfer of the deposit.
        •    The rescheduled booking must occur within one month of the original date.
        •    The originally scheduled sitter must be available for the new booking.
        •    If a sitter is available and you choose not to proceed with the booking, the deposit remains non-refundable.

  • In the rare event that a scheduled sitter is unable to fulfill a booking, Kidz Haven Babysitting will make every effort to assign a replacement. If an alternative sitter is available, you will be notified as soon as possible.

  • No. All babysitting services must be arranged through Kidz Haven Babysitting. Parents who book directly with sitters assume full responsibility, as Kidz Haven Babysitting will not be liable for any incidents that occur outside of our official scheduling process.

  • If a replacement sitter is available and you choose not to proceed with the booking, the deposit remains non-refundable.

  • Yes. Rates are subject to change at any time. Any updates will be communicated in advance whenever possible.

  • Tipping is greatly appreciated but is entirely optional. If you wish to show appreciation for the sitter’s service, tips can be given directly to the sitter at the end of the shift using Cash App, Zelle, Venmo, or cash.
